Mr. Subrata Pain

Dr. Subrata Pain is a dedicated researcher in the field of biomedical signal processing, with a particular focus on the application of machine learning and deep learning techniques. He has been associated as a Ph.D. research scholar at the Department of Advanced Technology Development Center, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, since July 2019. He submitted his doctoral thesis on November 28, 2024.
Dr. Pain’s research centers on the analysis of human brain connectivity networks using Electroencephalogram (EEG) data. His work integrates advanced methodologies from Graph Signal Processing, Deep Learning, and Machine Learning to examine the human brain connectome, contributing to cutting-edge developments in neuroinformatics and cognitive neuroscience.
Throughout his doctoral journey, Dr. Pain has also contributed to academic instruction, serving as a teaching assistant for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses including Data Analytics, Programming and Data Structures, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Probability & Statistical Learning, and Soft Computing. He has fulfilled all coursework requirements as part of his Ph.D. program.
His academic profile reflects a strong blend of theoretical knowledge, practical research, and teaching experience in some of the most dynamic and impactful areas of computer science and biomedical engineering.
