Mr. Mohit Nakra

Mohit Nakra, an adept Associate Professor at Alliance University, has a 12-year career enriched by his education from NIFT, Hyderabad, and a master’s from Amity University, Lucknow. He’s earned accolades like Best Design Collection and Most Creative at NIFT’s UG Design Collection Show and has worked with fashion houses such as Gaurav Gupta, Satya Paul, and Tarun Tahiliani. His interests include photography, fashion styling, art, painting, and culinary exploration. As a guest faculty and jury member at NIFT, Mohit specializes in design processes, portfolio development, fashion illustration, draping, and creative pattern making.

Prior to Alliance, Mohit served as an Assistant Professor at Pearl Academy for 2 years in the Fashion Styling & Image Design department, where he taught subjects like fashion deconstruction, imagery, fashion history, language techniques. He has published articles in The Indian Express on men’s accessories and Gen Z style/trends, and further deepened his practice through a workshop in subtraction cutting under Julian Roberts.
