Dr. Shashank Kumar Dey is a legal professional with expertise in constitutional, environmental & criminal law. He holds a Ph.D. in environmental Law from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, Lucknow and a L.L.M. in environmental law from Justice Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur. His foundational legal education includes a B.A. LL.B. (Constitutional Law Hons.) from KIIT Law School, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. He has also qualified for the (UGC)-NET. Before joining academia, Dr. Dey practiced law and assisted in case briefs and court proceedings at various judicial levels, including the Supreme Court of India and Delhi High Court. His professional journey reflects a strong commitment to both litigation and scholarship, and he firmly believes in the amalgamation of academia and industry to address contemporary legal challenges with practical insight.
Dr. Dey’s research areas include radioactivity, biodiversity, artificial intelligence, smart contracts, gender inequality and legal aid laws. He has published extensively in reputed journals on these themes and is also the author of a book on Environmental Law. He has presented his work at several international and national forums, including a conference at Colombo University, Sri Lanka, further establishing his global academic engagement.
Dr. Dey’s career embodies a balance of legal practice, research, and teaching, positioning him as a well-rounded legal expert poised to make impactful contributions to the advancement of law and society.
