Dr. Qawsar Gulzar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Alliance University. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, where his doctoral research focused on Intelligent Detection of Adversarial Cyberattacks and Anomalies in Cyber-Physical Systems. From September 2021 to October 2023, he served as a Junior Research Fellow, followed by his role as a Senior Research Fellow from November 2023 to July 2025 at Jamia Millia Islamia.
His research interests include cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and intelligent systems, with a particular emphasis on AI-driven intrusion detection for cyber-physical systems and IoT networks. His work leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and Federated Learning (FL) to develop robust, scalable, and privacy-aware security solutions. He is actively engaged in interdisciplinary and application-oriented research, contributing to the academic community through peer-reviewed publications, collaborative projects, curriculum development, and student mentorship. At Alliance University, he is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and fostering an innovative learning and research environment that prepares students to address emerging challenges in secure and intelligent digital infrastructures.
