Dr. Prabhat Kumar

Dr. Prabhat Kumar is an accomplished academic and researcher specializing in next-generation wireless communication systems, with a particular focus on 5G/6G technologies, cognitive radio networks, and connected environments in Industry 4.0.
Dr. Kumar completed his Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Jaypee University of Information Technology, India, with distinction (CGPA 9.6 in coursework). His post-doctoral research focused on spectral efficient designs for connected environments, supported by prestigious fellowships and funding from the National Research Foundation (NRF), South Africa. He has also been recognized as a Promising Young Researcher (Y-Rated) by the NRF for the period 2022–2027.
With over a decade of academic experience, Dr. Kumar has served as an Assistant Professor at Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Symbiosis International University (India), Chandigarh University, and Gulzar Group of Institutes. He also contributed to research sponsored by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) as a Research Fellow, where he played a pivotal role in spectrum sensing and signal processing projects.
His key research interests include:
- 5G/6G wireless technologies
- Cognitive radio and spectrum efficiency
- Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and MIMO systems
- Internet of Vehicles (IoV) and Internet of Medical Things (IoMT)
- Security in connected environments
- Signal processing and compressive sampling
Dr. Kumar has earned multiple accolades, including the Best Paper Award at IEEE ICIIP-2019 and Wireless Networks & Embedded Systems 2015, as well as competitive funding awards from NRF South Africa and ISRO. He is actively involved in government advisory roles, including membership in the 5G Working Groups of the Department of Telecommunication, Government of India.
He holds certifications in 5G technologies, data processing, and object-oriented programming, and is proficient in tools such as MATLAB, NS2, LTSpice, NI-Multisim, and Python.
Beyond academics, Dr. Kumar is an avid sports enthusiast and has won several badminton championships. He remains committed to advancing research, mentoring emerging scholars, and contributing to the evolution of global wireless communication systems.
