Dr. Karnapa Ajit
Assistant Professor
Alliance School of Applied Engineering
Dr. Karnapa Ajit is a motivated researcher and educator with expertise in bioelectrochemical systems, sustainable materials, and environmental technologies, focusing on innovative solutions in energy generation, wastewater treatment, and sustainability. Having recently completed a Ph.D. on “Performance of Microbial Fuel Cell Stack Using Sustainable Electrodes and Membranes,” she bridges fundamental science with applied engineering to address pressing environmental challenges through technology-driven research.
Her technical expertise spans:
- Synthesis and characterization of hard carbon and nanomaterials from biomass
- Development of functional nanomaterials such as metal-organic frameworks and transition metal carbides
- Advanced material characterization (XRD, FTIR, XPS, BET, Raman Spectroscopy, nano/micro-scale imaging)
- Reactor design and prototyping for MFCs and electrochemical systems
- Scientific writing and research proposal development for high-impact publications and grants
As an educator, she has mentored multiple B.Tech. and M.Tech. research groups, guiding students through experimental design, research methodology, and scientific communication. She has also served as a resource person in workshops and training programs, demonstrating strong skills in technical presentation and hands-on teaching.
Driven by a commitment to sustainability and education, she aims to contribute to academia by fostering research-led teaching, inspiring innovation, and developing practical, real-world solutions for a cleaner and more sustainable future.
