Vice Chancellor of Alliance University
Dr. Ayyappa holds Ph.D. from Bangalore University where he also pursued his Masters in Commerce and Rural Development. He also holds a Masters degree in Library Science from Annamalai University. His areas of specialization are Rural Development and Sericulture.
Dr. Ayyappa also held the position of a syndicate member of Bangalore University. His association with Bangalore University has been for a long period since his graduation days, where he also taught Development Studies in Social Science while serving as a junior research fellow in the Department of Zoology and the Centre for Rural Development Studies. Apart from academic endeavors, he was also associated with Bangalore University as Secretary in Student Union and as a Finance Committee member for Silver Jubilee Celebrations.
Dr. Ayyappa has participated in various conferences and seminars of national and international repute that span across areas of Sericulture, Life Sciences, Management, Genomics, Molecular Diagnostics and Clinical Research.
Dr. Ayyappa has been conferred various awards and accolades by diverse organizations. He has been awarded the Best Cadet award multiple times by the NCC and was awarded the Best Para Trooper.
His visionary outlook, outstanding leadership and passion for education have resulted in Dr. Ayyappa being part of multiple committees in various institutions. He is also a Government Council member for prestigious organizations in Bangalore where he shares his diverse administrative experience in influencing the quality and system of education.
In addition to his academic and professional accomplishments, one of the most notable aspects of Dr. Ayyappa has been that while holding various positions in Bangalore University, Dr. Ayyappa had donated all his earnings to the Chief Minister's Flood Relief Fund. Similarly, Dr. Ayyappa has been voluntarily contributing the entire proceeds of his remuneration from Alliance University to the Student Welfare Fund of the University. Alliance University and the student community are profusely grateful for his generosity.
