Alliance University, Bangalore hosted a one-day workshop held on November 9, 2011—organized by the Karnataka Legislative Council for Legislative Council members, which was inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri D. V. Sadananda Gowda in the presence of prominent dignitaries. The workshop titled, Prashikshana Shibira, was attended by about 63 members of the Legislative Council as well as by other ministers and political leaders from the State. The dignitaries who were present at the inauguration included:

1. Shri. D. H. Shankar Murthy - Hon’ble Chairman, Karnataka Legislative Council.
2. Shri. K. G. Bopaiah - Hon’ble Speaker, Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
3. Smt. Motamma - Hon’ble Leader of the Opposition, Karnataka Legislative Council.
4. Shri. Suresh Kumar S. - Hon’ble Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Karnataka.
5. Shri. A. Narayanswamy - Hon’ble Minister for Social Welfare and Prisons, Government of Karnataka.
6. Smt. Vimala Gowda - Hon’ble Deputy Chairman, Karnataka Legislative Council.
7. Dr. A. H. Shivayogiswamy - Hon’ble Chief Whip, Karnataka Legislative Council.
8. Shri. R. V. Venkatesh - Hon’ble Opposition Chief Whip, Karnataka Legislative Council.

To mark the occasion and to extend a token contribution to noble causes, the University donated a sum of Rs.10,00,000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
