The Foundation Day of Alliance University was celebrated at the Central Campus on August 2, 2011 in the presence of the Honorable Chancellor, Dr. Madhukar G. Angur, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Registrar, academic administrators, faculty, and staff. The program of events began in the morning with the flag hoisting ceremony by the Honorable Chancellor. Later in the evening, the Honorable Chancellor addressed the faculty and staff present and in his inspiring address traced a brief history of the memorable events leading up to the founding of the university and he touched upon the ethos and values of the institution. He also presented the mission and vision of the University and provided insights into the future growth plans of the University in other areas of higher education. The celebrations were marked by a cultural event in the evening and presented a vibrant show of cultural and artistic talent by members of the Alliance family as well as performances by persons with special needs, including children, who represented Samarthanam Trust, an NGO based in Bangalore and working with the disabled. The celebrations ended with a prize distribution ceremony for winners of games and competitions that were held previously and in the run up to the Foundation Day.
